From abroad you can either book for a flight ticket to Trivandrum, now known as thiruvananthapuram Airport in Kerala. Hire a Taxi or Autorickshaw to Thampanoor Railway station or Thampanoor Government Bus station. Both the Railway station and bus-station are nearby in a 2minute walkable distance. By Ordinary passenger Train, to kollam Railway Station it is roughly Rs.30. Get down at Kollam and hire an autorickshaw for Iron-bridge @Rs.30 and get down near muthoot bank. Even the Autorickshaw can drive down the steep concrete road from near the Muthoot Bank. If you are coming by a private bus to K.S.R.T.C bus station for Rs.10 approx., get down after the traffic signal. From there it is just a walkable distance of 100 meters to Iron-bridge. If you have any doubts about the Auto fare, you can book an auto or taxi with advanced bill mentioned with travel fare amount with the help of police present there. So you need to give only the mentioned fare noted in the bill, from Rly.stn to our destination near Iron-bridge, once you reach there.
Don't cross the Iron-bridge and go to the west side. By the left side where the New bridge starts, you can see a concrete ramp going downwards and on a coconut tree you can see one of the Flex-board of Bali kalari. Turn left and arrow pointers will lead you to a two-storey building. Sometimes Autodrivers can confuse you by asking you, whether you want to go to Iron-bridge(Irumbupaalam) or stone-bridge(kallu-paalam). Tell them clearly that you want to goto IRON-BRIDGE. By Ordingary(shuttle or slow) train it takes 2 hrs to reach kollam Railway station. In Express trains (Fast ones) it may take an aapprox fare of Rs.55 and it will reach kollam Rly Stn in one and a quarter hour. By Government Bus from Thampanoor to kollam, the bus-fare is nearly Rs.50 approx in year 2015, and it can take 2hours journey. The Bus charges or train fares may slightly vary as years roll by. In case you are unable to get a Trivandrum flight ticket directly from your country, you can book for a ticket to Nedumbassery Airport, near to Ernakulam. From Ernakulam to kollam it is roughly 4-5 hours journey by Train or Bus. By train it may cost Rs.150 approx. The Bus ticket for super-fast will cost higher. Don't board ordinary bus as it may take 6 or more hours. If you want to make the journey more interesting, by travelling through the back-water of Ashtamudi lake to kollam, then you have to take a ticket for Alleppy and get a Government Boat service to kollam Boat jetty.
You can enjoy the village sceneries, chinese fishing nets, see cranes and other birds, inhale the cool breeze and it will be soothing to the eyes. From kollam boat jetty by walk it is 5minutes distance to Irumbupalam(Iron-bridge), kollam. From there how to reach us, I have already explained. If any North-Indians are wanting to come to Bali kalari, then catch a Train for kanyakumari or Trivandrum and get down at kollam railway station, catch autorickshaw or bus to Iron-bridge. Those people coming from kanyakumari side to kollam can catch a Train for kottayam or Ernakulam, and get down at kollam.
Follow the blue arrows in the Map given below to reach 'Shines Building' near Iron-bridge and just opposite to it, you can see our Advertisement board from the top of bridge. On the East side of bridge is a concrete ramp(sloping way), going downward from East to west just beside the bridge. Go down further and you shall find few narrow lanes, turn left at the 2nd lane, and follow the sign boards on walls and you will reach a gate with tiled roof. Don't enter there. Go further by the left side through the narrow path, and you will reach an Iron-gate, on the right with 2 storey building. This is our center.

Our Weapon Training and demonstration of kalaripayat - stage shows, is done at the Head Office and, preferably please come in a group as the per-head cost of Demo-ticket will come down to Rs.500, which shall be economical for you. A minimum of 10 people is needed for a demo to be conducted without incurring loss for us. If there is only a couple of people who wishes a demo, they will have to pay Rs.5000 as lumpsum to see a live demo, with explanation of each weapons and how it is used, Kalaripayat origin, etc shall be done for you. You can even take still photographs during the demo and also of the traditional weapons. For taking videos you need special permission from our center. Only thing is that, before you start your journey, please do send an email of information of your arrival in advance of 2 weeks, and make a telephone call along with it, to our Director or G.M.
